Arts Day at the Capitol

Arts Day at the Capitol is on February 28th!  Attendees can expect a full day of valuable information and events, including incredible entertainment provided by groups of young literary and performing arts students.  Kansas Citizens for the Arts is sponsoring this event. To register for the day’s events, go to http://www.kansasarts.org.  Don’t miss this important day to advocate for the arts and arts education, attended by individuals and local leaders in the arts from across the state.

Schedule of Activities:

11:00am    Dillon House – 404 SW 9th Street (directly west of capitol)

Legislative Review and Summary

Box lunches (paid for by attendees)

12:00pm   Student Performances – 2nd Floor Capitol Rotunda (KSAAE sponsored)

Seaman High School:  Jazz Ensemble #1 and Show Choir

Rochester Elementary School 6th Grade Choir

Blue Valley North High School:  Jessi Glueck – Gold Medal winner, Scholastic Art and Writing Awards

1:30pm     Throughout the Capitol Building

Legislative office visits

5:00pm     Jayhawk Tower – 700 SW Jackson Street

Reception for Legislators & Arts Advocates
